The Art Work of Dan Gerdeman
In July of 2006, I taught a workshop, "Video as Art" to teenagers at the Girdwood Arts Camp in Girdwood, Alaska.  I spent 10 days in the greatest little "funky" town in the United States. During my splendid time in Girdwood I painted 17 paintings about my experience.   From catching the biggest fish of my life, eating grand food, tasting berries I never knew existed, to seeing bears in the wild.

I donated these paintings to the arts camp.  My friend Thalia Wilkinson put on a benefit at the Java Haus in Girdwood and a good portion of the paintings sold.  The sales of these paintings could not even begin to pay back what the folks in Girdwood allowed me to experience in their paradise of "the midnight sun."   Thanks Girdwood. I love you.
